The UBS Education Initiative

The UBS Education Initiative, established on the occasion of UBS's 150th anniversary, consists of six sub-projects and is geared towards the Swiss population as a whole. The initiative's aim is to further strengthen Switzerland's excellent reputation and solid position as a place for education and business. The centerpiece of the initiative is the UBS International Center of Economics in Society at the University of Zurich. Up to five professorships will be established there over the next few years and will contribute to advancing top-level international economic research.  A great deal will also be happening outside the university arena. The "Explore-it" sub-project, for example, aims to draw students into the fields of natural sciences, technology and economics. In addition, we will support projects for apprentices, young entrepreneurs and start-ups, and promote life-long learning among employees. And by creating 150 additional apprenticeship places and 150 additional internship places, we are ultimately investing in our own internal growth.
