UBS online publication "Engagement" wins corporate publishing prize

UBS's internal online community affairs newsletter, "Engagement", recently won a BCP Best of Corporate Publishing award in the "Digital media – employees" category. The jury justified its decision by saying: "With 'Engagement', UBS has not only opened up as a business, but has also opened the heart. It really brings home the essence of the UBS brand to employees, making it well worthy of the gold prize."

"Engagement", an e-paper magazine, was conceived with the aim of raising interest among UBS's employees in Switzerland in the various community affairs projects that the firm is engaged in, and to motivate them to volunteer for and/or make a donation to these projects. Since its launch, there has been a marked improvement in the number of staff volunteering and donations, and the success of the first edition has prompted the firm to plan five issues annually.

The BCP is the largest corporate publishing competition in Europe, covering 600 corporate publications. First held in 2003, the competition is organized by Forum Corporate Publishing, comprised of around 100 corporate publishing providers in German-speaking countries, together with the leading magazines in the industry. This year, awards were given in 28 categories, with another four special prizes being handed out. Winners were chosen by a jury of 120 specialists from the fields of journalism, art direction, marketing and corporate communications. The awards were presented at a ceremony in Hamburg, Germany on July 6.
