Treasury
Group Treasury is responsible for the efficient management of UBS's financial resources, including management of the balance sheet and capital, interest rate and currency exposure, and liquidity and funding resources.
Working in Group Treasury requires a keen sense of risk and return. Group Treasury seeks to position UBS in a manner that provides the businesses with the necessary resources to pursue income generating opportunities while at the same time maintaining a prudent and disciplined approach to managing our balance sheet. Examples of the diverse challenges presented to Group Treasury employees include hedging the foreign exchange risk on profits earned around the world, managing open interest rate exposures and determining the required balance of capital given the business activities of the business divisions. Other responsibilities of Group Treasury include developing the structures we use to finance our businesses, safeguarding liquidity across all markets, time zones and currencies, and managing the firm's equity.
Group Treasury employees have the opportunity to gain exposure to UBS's global activities and develop partnerships in the business divisions, as well as with the senior executives of the bank. Employees of Group Treasury have regular contact with colleagues across Group Finance, with the product teams and collateral managers in the Investment Bank and the financial leadership of Wealth Management.
