UBS appoints Hiroshi Toda as Special Advisor to Investment Banking

Tokyo, July 18, 2014 - UBS Securities Japan Co., Ltd. today announced that Hiroshi Toda has been appointed as Special Advisor to its investment banking unit.

Toda most recently served as Japan's Ambassador to Greece from 2010 to 2013, playing an instrumental role in guiding Japan's economic and diplomatic relationship with that European country during its period of financial challenges. Prior to that, he worked for 35 years in the Nomura Group, including serving as Deputy President of Nomura Holdings for five years.

Also in his career at Nomura, Toda held a series of senior positions in Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. including serving as its Vice Chairman and leading its wholesale banking, investment banking, capital markets, and Swiss banking units.

Toda is a graduate of the Economics School of Keio University.
