UBS announces its support for the Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Sports Festival 2016 in Estavayer-le-Lac
The Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Sports Festival is one of the most important sporting events in Switzerland. Last year's event in Burgdorf thrilled around 300,000 visitors, with several hundred thousand viewers following the contests on television. "The Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Sport Festival stands for strong emotions, fair contests and Swiss tradition. These are values that are also of great significance for UBS," says Lukas Gähwiler, CEO UBS Switzerland.
At the next event in 2016 in Estavayer-le-Lac, UBS has committed itself as a main sponsor, as it was in 2007 in Aarau and in 2013 in Emmental. UBS is underlining its commitment to Switzerland through this partnership.
UBS has supported numerous top events in the fields of sport and culture in Switzerland for many years. In the sporting sphere, its athletics commitments form important pillars in its sponsorship portfolio. This year, UBS is the "Leading Partner" for the European Athletics Championships in Zurich and for the Swiss national team. Since summer 2011, UBS has made possible the "UBS Kids Cup",an athletics program for future talent that inspires around 100,000 children under the age of 15 throughout Switzerland every year. Weltklasse Zürich, Athletissima Lausanne, Spengler Cup Davos and cultural commitments such as Art Basel, Montreux Jazz Festival and Festival del Film Locarno have also been supported by UBS for many years. This sponsorship portfolio enables a broad range of unique experiences for a wide audience. The Swiss Federal Wrestling and Alpine Sport Festival is the perfect addition to these existing commitments.
