Chinese entrepreneurs to learn
from the best
On September 17 and 18, UBS Family Advisory and UHNW APAC Switzerland and Asia invited 20 high-profile Chinese entrepreneurs participating in the prestigious Tsinghua-IMD China Family Business programme to discuss with them aspects of the family office concept and family governance.
At the invitation of the Tsinghua University in Bejing and IMD in Lausanne, UBS Family Advisory organized a two-day seminar for around 20 Chinese key entrepreneurs. Henry Hirzel, Head UBS Family Advisory, gave an overview of the UBS Family Advisory approach and Jason Hobday of UBS Family Advisory Services introduced the family office concept. Thomas Boegli, who heads up the China/Taiwan desk in Zurich, rounded off the session with a discussion of integrated banking services for Asian clients. It was clear from the lively questioning and discussion that the participants were eager to learn about governance and organizational strategies.
Hosted by Benno Kriech of APAC Switzerland and members of his team, the Chinese delegation enjoyed their stay in the French part of Switzerland, which of course included some wine tasting. They travelled back to Beijing with a flood of new ideas and a network of contacts to help them define and implement a tailor-made solution for their own family. They were all convinced that learning from the best helps to find the right answers to their unique challenges.
