Simple, convenient and secure

Access Key for your UBS Online Services

The Access Key is available as an alternative to the card reader for logging in and confirming beneficiaries in online payment transactions. The most important benefits:

  • Simply connect to the computer and log on - no additional software or drivers need installing.
  • Automatically establishes a secure connection to UBS.
  • Manages the connection and checks encrypted data traffic while you use UBS Online Services.

The Access Key can be purchased for CHF 65 (incl. VAT). It may be ordered in UBS e-banking via the global function "Security" which can be found on the top right side. Please take note of the Restrictions on use.

Technical requirements

The Access Key can be used with following operating systems and Internet browsers. For security reasons, we recommend you always use the latest software releases and service packs (SP) and keep your software updated, especially with security updates (Microsoft / Apple Mac OS).

To operate the Access Key, you will also need a free USB port on your computer with read and write permissions. Terminal infrastructures are expressly not supported.

If a connection cannot be established, you will need to start the software update manually using our execution file .

Restrictions on use

UBS cannot guarantee that the Access Key is compatible with third-party software (e.g. payment software, antivirus software, firewall). For information please contact the respective providers directly.

Clients and/or authorized users, who are in one or several of the following categories that are subject to restrictionsimposed by the device manufacturer, may not purchase the Access Key:

  • Clients and/or authorized users who are citizens of an embargo country.

  • Clients and/or authorized users who reside or receive mail in an embargo country.

  • Clients and/or authorized users who reside or receive mail in a country that does not have the required certifications for the Access Key.

  • Clients and/or authorized users who appear on one of the published by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

Before traveling abroad, please check that the Access Key has the necessary certification for imports to the destination country.
