To use UBS Mobile Banking, you need access to UBS e-banking in Switzerland. In addition, your domicile must be in one of the following countries .

To display information about your credit cards, you need to register for Cards Online in UBS e-banking (in the "Cards" section).

App

The UBS Mobile Banking app is available for smartphones with iOS or Android.

Technical requirements:

  • iPhone with iOS version 5 or higher
  • Smartphone with Android OS version 2.3 or higher

Web app

UBS Mobile Banking can also be used as a web app via Internet browser.

Technical requirements:

  • Smartphone with Windows Phone version  8 or higher
  • BlackBerry Bold 9900
  • New generation BlackBerrys with BlackBerry OS version 10 or higher
  • iPhone with iOS version 6 or higher
  • Smartphone with Android OS version 4 or higher

If access to the web app is not supported by your preinstalled browser, you should switch to Google Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer Mobile, version 10 or higher (does not apply to BlackBerrys).

The menus and the functional scope of the web app correspond to that of the app for iOS and Android. However, equipment such as the camera or the NFC antenna cannot be controlled with the Internet browser. It is not therefore possible to read payment slips or log in via NFC (wireless exchange of the access data).

The web app is accessed via:

www.ubs.com/webapp

The login procedure is described in the following instructions:

UBS Mobile Banking can be set up and activated directly in the app the first time you use it. Alternatively, you can do so in UBS e-banking under "Settings > Mobile Services > Mobile Banking”.

Select all the accounts, custody accounts, portfolios and credit cards that you want to be able to access with UBS Mobile Banking (there are no limitations). Only the selected accounts, custody accounts, portfolios and credit cards will be shown in the UBS Mobile Banking app.

  • You can change the alias for the accounts, custody accounts, portfolios and credit cards if required.
  • Select the standard debit account for scanning payment slips.
  • Click on "Save". UBS Mobile Banking is now set up.

The following login options are available:

  • Access Card with card reader
Log in with the card reader and existing Access Card in exactly the same way as for UBS e-banking.
  • Access Card NFC
If your Android smartphone supports wireless exchange of access data (NFC), you can log in directly with the new NFC-enabled Access Card and associated PIN. You do not need a card reader.
  • Access Card Display
The new Access Card Display is available for smartphones without the NFC function (e.g. iPhone). This card is also ideal for mobile access when on the move as it has a built-in keypad and display, which means that no card reader is required for logging in. The Access Card Display can also be used for logging into UBS e-banking.
  • Password
If you only want to consult information about your accounts, portfolios and cards without being able to carry out payments or securities transactions, you can simply log in using a password (which must be set in UBS e-banking under "Settings > User profile > Password").

Ordering

Individuals can order Access Cards for convenient access to UBS Mobile Banking when on the move under "Offerings" in UBS e-banking. Corporate and institutional clients should contact the support.

Instructions

The login procedure is described in the following instructions:

The following Access Cards offer you convenient access to UBS Mobile Banking when on the move:

  • Access Card NFC for wireless exchange of access data (for smartphones with the NFC function, e.g. Android devices)
  • Access Card Display with built-in card reader function (for smartphones without the NFC function, e.g. iPhone)

Both cards can also be used to log into UBS e-banking, although the Access Card NFC requires a card reader or Access Key.

Ordering and costs for private clients

Private clients can order Access Cards under "Offerings" in UBS e-banking.

Costs:

  • Access Card NFC: CHF 10 (incl. VAT); the first order is free of charge
  • Access Card Display: CHF 25 (incl. VAT)

Ordering and costs for corporate and institutional clients

Both cards are free of charge for corporate and institutional clients, who should contact the support team to order.

NFC enables wireless exchange of access data. Your Android smartphone needs to be equipped with the NFC function for you to be able to log into the UBS Mobile Banking app via Access Card NFC. Consult your smartphone instructions or the manufacturer's homepage to check whether your smartphone is NFC-enabled.

If your smartphone supports NFC, but the "Access Card" login option for wireless exchange of access data is not displayed on your device, this may be because the NFC function has been disabled. Some smartphones switch off NFC automatically when the battery level is low. You can reactivate NFC by modifying the settings on your device. Additional information can be found in your smartphone instructions if necessary.

SMS or e-mail notifications can be set up in UBS e-banking at the top right edge of the screen under "Settings > Mobile Services > Notifications", or in the main navigation via the direct access in the respective function (e.g. Cards or Payments > direct access "Set up notifications").

  2. Select the notifications of your choice. Via (i)  you can obtain helpful descriptions of individual criteria.
  3. Change the alias if required.
  4. Enter your mobile phone number and/or e-mail address depending on whether you want to receive notifications by SMS or e-mail.

Activate the mobile phone number or e-mail address by sending the activation code shown in UBS e-banking to UBS by SMS or e-mail (this is not necessary if the mobile phone number or e-mail address is already used for UBS Mobile Services).

To specify additional notifications, you must repeat steps 1 through 4.

You can set up notifications in UBS Quotes on the start page in the left-hand menu under "News > Notification".

Enter your e-mail address and/or your mobile phone number on the "General" tab, depending on whether you want to receive notifications by e-mail or SMS.

On the "Virtual portfolios" tab, you can choose to be informed when you reach the limits you have defined in your virtual portfolios. You can also request notifications just before bonds or derivatives mature. For each notification, you can decide whether you want to receive information by e-mail or SMS, or both. If you want to be informed when a new issue is given the status “Open for subscription”, you can adjust the relevant setting on the “New issues” tab.

You can set up the SMS inquiry function in UBS e-banking in the top right-hand corner of the screen under "Settings > Mobile Services > SMS inquiries".

  • If you have not yet entered a mobile phone number, you will be asked to do so.
  • Activate the mobile phone number by sending the activation code shown in UBS e-banking to UBS by SMS.
  • All accounts, custody accounts, credit and prepaid cards (for individuals) are automatically activated for SMS inquiries. If you want to have the balances of multiple accounts and custody accounts sent in a single SMS, select this option. These accounts will then be grouped. The available credit and prepaid cards can be found on the "Cards" tab.
  • You can change the alias for accounts and custody accounts if required.
  • Click on "Save".

You can set up the SMS inquiry function in UBS Quotes on the start page in the left-hand menu under "News > Notification”. SMS price inquiries can be activated via the "SMS" tab.

If you want to change the mobile phone numbers or e-mail addresses used for UBS Mobile Banking, you can do so as follows: in UBS e-banking under "Settings > Mobile Services > Phone/E-Mail" or in UBS Quotes under “News > Notification”.
