career

Piloted in March 2007, the UBS Career Comeback program is aimed at professionals with a minimum of five years experience (preferably in financial services) and a graduate degree who, after an 18-month to 7-year career break, would like help in transitioning back into the workforce. This selective program is offered free of charge to participants. Enrollment is limited to ensure individual attention.

The program includes important business updates from leading professors in finance, marketing, technology and strategy; professional one-on-one coaching; an overview of current work/family issues; and development of a personal action plan for re-entering the workforce.

The UBS Career Comeback fellowship program is designed to provide the following opportunities to participants:

  • Update: Re-entrants to the workforce must contend with a changed business environment, including technological advancements, regulatory changes and the effects of mergers and acquisitions. In conjunction with academic partners around the world, UBS brings together business updates from professors in finance, marketing, technology and strategy.

  • Develop: Recent studies suggest that people face a number of unique obstacles when returning to the workforce, including a diminished personal network and increased family responsibilities. Through coaching, teamwork and individual mentoring, UBS helps address these “softer” issues, as participants develop their action plan for re-entering the workforce.

  • Network: Following the on-campus portion of the program, UBS brings participants to a UBS location where participants meet with business leaders, and where each is paired with an individual UBS peer coach. Building relationships among the participants, faculty and business leaders to provide a learning community for one another is an important part of the program.
