Health is the basis for fulfilment in life. We are actively involved in financing medical and biological research projects. Our aim is to reduce the overall burden of disease, particularly in developing countries.
Tropical diseases
3,000 people die from malaria every day – three out of four are children. 1.5 million people die from tuberculosis and another 8 million are newly infected every year. One of the UBS Optimus Foundation's main areas of activity centres on these types of tropical diseases that disproportionately affect poor and marginalized populations.
