We promote projects all over the world – regardless of politics, religion and ethnic background. In order to ensure that the support we provide is as effective as possible, we concentrate on larger projects which as a rule last from three to five years.

The projects we are implementing involve close collaboration with respected partner organizations. Our specialists assess projects and ensure that those selected are closely monitored.

The UBS Optimus Foundation focuses on two areas: "Children & Talents" and "Medical & Biological Research".

Our criteria

Applications for support are assessed by internal and external specialists and forwarded to the Foundation Board with appropriate recommendations. Above all, applicants must be able to demonstrate that their projects are innovative and sustainable. In order to ensure that our financial commitment promotes these efforts, we generally consider larger projects that last on average between three and five years and receive grants of between CHF 50,000 and CHF 300,000 a year from the Foundation. The progress of the projects and attainment of their objectives are reviewed on a regular basis.
