BVG - Swiss Federal Law on Occupational Retirement, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans
The cover is mandatory for all employed persons required to pay AHV contributions (i.e. AHV-relevant salaries of CHF 19'8950 p.a. and over); cover for death and disability mandatory after 17th birthday; cover for retirement provisions mandatory after 24th birthday. Employed and self-employed persons, who are not subject to mandatory cover, can get voluntary cover.

UVG - Swiss Federal Law on Accident Insurance
All employed persons in Switzerland are coverd mandatory. For self-employed persons the cover is voluntary.

Provision in excess of mandatory cover
Provision which goes beyond the cover for the maximum insured salary of CHF 56'355 p.a. stipulated in the BVG.
