Kunst als Marketinginstrument entdeckt
Mit grossem Brimborium wurde vor kurzem in New York das Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) wiedereröffnet. Über 800 Mio Dollar steckten die Investoren in den monumentalen Bau, das heisst: Man musste auch umliegende Gebäude abreissen, um Platz zu schaffen, was die Kosten in die Höhe trieb.

UBS launches The Art Collection
NEW YORK. The Swiss bank UBS has announced that it is creating the "The art collection". This is being formed from the existing collection owned by the bank, which consists of works dotting the bank's European branches, plus works it acquired when it merged with the American firm PaineWebber, which already had famed holdings.

The wide-ranging holdings of UBS, a major force in banking and art, are going on tour to New York's MoMA.
UBS, the Swiss financial giant that sponsors the Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach art fairs, is preparing to exhibit works from its collection at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) after the museum returns to its redesigned Manhattan home. The exhibition is currently slated for next spring, according to UBS, and will highlight works from the former PaineWebber art collection, which passed into the hands of UBS when it acquired the American financial institution in 2000. The exhibition will also include 37 contemporary works that UBS gave to MoMA in 2002.
