UBS Openings: Drawings 4 May - 11 November 2007
As part of the rehang at Tate Modern, Tate curators have again selected works from The UBS Art Collection to form the second in a series of annual temporary displays. This display of more than forty drawings from The UBS Art Collection will focus on the act of mark making itself, as well as drawing as the natural medium for the exploration of content, the observational and narrative.
The display includes works by Lucian Freud, David Hockney, Cy Twombly, Alighiero e Boetti, Troy Brauntuch, Chuck Close, Bruce Conner, Walter Dahn, Robert Gober, Maria Kontis, Brice Marden, Richard Phillips, Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Shaw, Rosemarie Trockel, William Wegman, Robin Winters and Michele Zalopany and will be on view for six months in three galleries located on Level 3 at Tate Modern.
The first display of the series shown last year was UBS Openings: Photography, and featured over forty photographic works by influential American and European artists such as Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, and Thomas Ruff.
