A spectacular exhibition entitled «Vincent van Gogh – Between Earth and Heaven: The Landscapes» will be hosted by the Kunstmuseum Basel from April 26 to September 27, 2009, featuring, for the first time anywhere in the world, the landscape paintings of the artistic legend Vincent van Gogh.
These 70 paintings – ranging from world-famous works of major importance to others virtually unknown to the public – offer a whole new insight into van Gogh’s art. In addition, 40 masterpieces by van Gogh’s contemporaries belonging to the Basel Kunstmuseum’s world-famous collection are on show to highlight just how innovative his handling of nature was.
