Kinder in Uganda
|
Uganda hat weltweit die höchste Zahl an Kindern, deren Eltern an Aids gestorben sind. Gemäss offiziellen Statistiken* sind 14% aller Kinder unter 18 Jahren Waisen- oder Halbwaisen. Bei den unter 15-jährigen wird die Zahl sogar auf 20% geschätzt. Die Folgen für die betroffenen Kinder sind fatal, sie sind in jeglicher Hinsicht vernachlässigt. Die "Red Cross Society Uganda" baut eine Primar- und Sekundarschule für Waisen und vernachlässigte Kinder auf, um ihnen mit einer soliden Ausbildung eine Chance für eine bessere Zukunft zu geben.
