Call for innovation

The UBS Optimus Foundation supports projects worldwide in the grant areas of Education & Child Protection (ECP) and Global Health Research (GHR). To this end, the UBS Optimus Foundation will open calls for applications, as with the current call shown on the right-side menu. This call for 'Innovation' projects is to support novel, unconventional ideas under the specific requirements of funding projects for a term of 12-18 months; for CHF 100,000 to CHF 150,000; and with an application of no more than 2 pages.

All are welcome to apply - please read more about the specific terms and topics within the call &guidelines for either ECP or GHR available in the rightside menu. Applications for this call must be received by 30 November 2009.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to electronically fill out the PDF form provided in the rightside menu as this will greatly aid the review process. You can download the latest version of Adobe reader at no cost by visiting www.adobe.com. Otherwise, if you have difficulty using Adobe, applications may be submitted in electronic Word format, but they must be no longer than 2 pages, using Arial 11 Point .

If you have a project inquiry unrelated to any of the subject areas mentioned within these calls but still in the areas of ECP and GHR, you may still submit a general pre-proposal for support as outlined below.

Procedure for applicants

The management of the UBS Optimus Foundation follows a clearly defined procedure in processing general applications not related to specific project calls. In the initial phase, we ask you to submit your application by filling out a pre-proposal. This draft will be used to decide whether support from the UBS Optimus Foundation is feasible. You will be informed of the decision in writing. If it's decided that your project is of interest to the foundation, the management will contact you to discuss the continuing process.
