The UBS women’s networks around the globe are open to all employees. They provide networking, mentoring and leadership opportunities that encourage professional and personal development.

Women's Networks

The mission of the women’s networks is to promote the recruitment, retention and advancement of women at UBS. They also provide networking, mentoring and leadership opportunities that encourage the professional and personal development of all employees. The networks are open to all employees of UBS.

With roots as an internal working group in the UK the women’s network “All Bar None” was created to inspire and encourage all employees by reinforcing the notion that each employee is an important and contributing member of the organization.

All Bar None was so successful in the UK that women in America, Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Tokyo have also established chapters with similar aims and goals.

Further regional women’s networks include the Women’s Business Network in Germany, the Women’s Business Network in Switzerland, and the Women's Network Seoul.

The need for professional UBS women to meet to exchange ideas and experiences in Switzerland was demonstrated in the overwhelming response to invitations to networking events initiated by the Women’s Business Network. This network is supported by a core group of business women and is open to every employee in Switzerland.

The aim of these clubs is to provide a mutually supportive environment to develop communication, encourage self-confidence and personal growth. The network also offers a range of internal and external networking events, as well as a Development workshop series open to all employees.

According to Julie Chakraverty, Global Head of FI Analytics and Client Connectivity, Global COO for FI Client Coverage and Member of the UBS Investment Bank Board, "Recognizing and promoting diversity, in all its meanings, is hugely important for us to stay a true leader in the marketplace. All Bar None is a dedicated and energized forum which identifies key issues and helps press through practical changes which impact UBS women around the firm."

In 2007, All Bar None Americas features different Speaker Series. All Bar None’s Leadership Speaker Series features every month a senior women at UBS to talk about her career, personal learning experiences and other topics of interest. On the first Wednesday of each month, All Bar None features a top producing Financial Advisor who will discuss her experiences and share insights about the strategies that catapulted her to success. All Bar None has also successfully launched a mentoring program.

Women’s Leadership Conferences around the world:

The annual All Bar None UK Conference is a day-long event, which is packed with inspiring talks by high-profile keynote speakers, stimulating panel discussions with senior managers, and a range of workshops hosted by internal and external experts. The 2006 event was entitled ‘Altogether more potential’ and was attended by approximately 450 male and female employees.

The Women’s Business Network in Switzerland hosts a WBN Annual Conference. “Careers at UBS: Making it happen” is the 2007 topic of the conference and begins with a session of workshops that should be thought-provoking and inspiring in the planning and developing of each participants careers within UBS. In addition there will be a very interesting panel to explore issues and respond to questions that concern and affect us in different ways.

Each year, All Bar None Americas hosts the All Bar None Women’s Leadership Conference. The event brings together women from across the Firm for a day to explore strategies that can enhance their professional and personal development. The conference will feature several speakers, workshops and panel discussions, as well as networking opportunities with the firm’s senior management.

The Women’s Business Network in Germany launched their annual WBN Conference in 2004. Since then, approximately 200 attendees participate in this half day event each year to gain knowledge on changing topics, share information and build a network across businesses. This year's topic will be ‘Client Experience’.
