UBS has announced new partnerships with two renowned Minnesota institutions--the Minnesota Orchestra and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR)--bringing a powerful communications platform and important cultural programming to clients and employees in the Twin Cities area.

The Minnesota Orchestra and Minnesota Public Radio are two of the state's leading institutions, and the partnerships are complimentary--MPR's broadcast of the The Minnesota Orchestra is one of the longest running in the country.

"The new partnerships continue to build on UBS' longstanding and ongoing commitment to the support of arts and culture worldwide," said Jim Pierce, Western Division Manager. "I strongly encourage employees to take advantage of these new resources in both their professional and personal lives."

Support of the Minnesota Orchestra underscores the Firm's dedication to investing in cultural expression and making the arts accessible to clients and employees in the communities in which we do business. UBS' support of Minnesota Public Radio--one of the country's premier public radio organizations and the broadcast home of the Minnesota Orchestra--includes a capstone gift of $3 million to the station's capital campaign.

About the Minnesota Orchestra Partnership
As one of the Top 10 orchestras in the U.S., the Minnesota Orchestra fits in with the Firm's sponsorship strategy of partnering with leading orchestras around the world and in the United States. The orchestra has a strong demographic fit with the UBS' target audiences:

  • 69 percent are age 55+

  • 94 percent have college or graduate degrees

  • 30 percent have a household net worth of $1 million+

The sponsorship provides season-long opportunities for branding, hospitality and employee benefits--including a 20 percent discount on tickets--and allows UBS to break new ground in the community as the institution's first-ever season sponsor.

About the Minnesota Public Radio Partnership
Minnesota Public Radio® is one of the nation's premier public radio organizations. With headquarters in the heart of downtown St. Paul, Minnesota Public Radio operates a regional network of 37 stations, covering Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Michigan, Iowa and Idaho. In return for its contribution, UBS will receive naming rights to the Forum, a newly constructed public broadcast and meeting facility that will be known as The UBS Forum.

The new state-of-the-art space has multiple configurations which can be arranged for different purposes, and video conference and streaming video cameras, and an exterior terrace overlooking the state capitol.

The UBS Forum will serve as MPR's premier broadcast facility, reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners regionally and millions in national broadcasts. UBS will use space for meetings, presentations and client events.

On September 16, UBS will receive exclusive sponsorship of the MPR headquarters grand opening celebration. Approximately 800 major donors to MPR's $53 million capital campaign are expected to attend. UBS guests will be hosted by Marten Hoekstra, Head of Wealth Management US.
