Worldwide, Uganda has the highest number of children whose parents have died of Aids. According to official statistics*, 14% of all children under the age of 18 are orphans or have lost one parent. For those under the age of 15, this number is estimated to be 20%. The consequences for the children affected are fatal; they are neglected in every single respect. The "Red Cross Society Uganda" is building a primary and secondary school for orphans and neglected children in order to give them a chance for a better future with a solid education.
