A 45 year-old senior executive at a major multinational corporation had accumulated a
substantial amount of company stock during his 15- year tenure, with a portion of it currently
illiquid. In the context of his entire portfolio's holdings, he was much too heavily weighted in
the stock. He began to wonder about his lack of diversification, and sought the advice of a
UBS Client Advisor.
The UBS Client Advisor, working with a UBS team of specialists from around the firm (Risk
Management, Financial Planning, Portfolio Management), went to work to develop a
comprehensive, integrated Wealth Management plan. The client's portfolio was retooled to
include a variety of techniques to address his liquidity problems, in addition to investing a
portion of his cash holdings across different investment vehicles and markets. These were
the first steps taken to eliminate some of the risk inherent in his originally undiversified
portfolio. The Client Advisor even included a strategic investment plan for his sizable art
collection.
