Chip & PIN
Chip & PIN

How does Chip & PIN work?
Chip technology uses sophisticated processing to identify genuine cards and makes counterfeiting more complex and expensive. The PIN you enter in the keypad is checked against the PIN held on the chip embedded in you charge card. This is used to verify your identity instead of checking a signature on a receipt.

If you have forgotten your PIN
You can request a PIN reminder by calling the UBS Assistance Centre using the freephone number 00800 832 832 32 *.

Changing your PIN
Should you wish to change the PIN issued to you to a more memorable number of your choice, you can do so at any high street bank ATM in the UK. Please avoid choosing numbers that can be easily guessed by third parties.

Unlocking your PIN
If you have incorrectly tried three consecutive times to key in your PIN, your PIN will be locked. This is to prevent fraudulent use of your card. If you later remember your PIN, you can unlock it at any high street bank ATM in the UK. If you cannot remember your PIN, you will have to request a PIN reminder before unlocking it by calling our UBS Assistance Centre on 00800 832 832 32*.
