UBS Gold & Numismatics organizes two major auctions a year in Basel and Zurich. In addition to these, two or three smaller auctions are held each year at leading coin fairs in Switzerland and abroad.
UBS Gold & Numismatics auctions include coins and medals from antiquity (Roman, Greek and Byzantine) and the medieval period right up to modern times. Banknotes from all over the world – from Albania to Zimbabwe – and related items from all periods of history are also represented.
Auction dates
The next auctions will take place in Basel from January 19 to 20, 2010 and in Zurich from September 7 to 9, 2010. The catalogues will be available in December 2009 and August 2010.

Valuations & other services
|
UBS Gold & Numismatics values coins for clients, Group companies and client advisors – usually free of charge. A charge equivalent to 2-4% of the estimated value is made for valuations of whole collections or large groups of items and for written expert opinions.
This fee is repaid if the items in question are sold to or auctioned by UBS Gold & Numismatics.
Auction representation: UBS Gold & Numismatics can bid on behalf of clients at auctions not organized by UBS. It normally does this free of charge or for a modest fee.
Expert opinions: UBS Gold & Numismatics can provide an expert opinion concerning the value or authenticity of individual items.
Talks and presentations: UBS Gold & Numismatics holds talks on the cultural and historical significance of coins, medals, and money in general at client events and as part of internal training schemes.
