The key advantages of travellers cheques

In the event of loss or theft, free replacement immediately worldwide. Usually within 24 hours.
You can use Swiss Bankers Travelers Cheques in Swiss francs to obtain cash in a local currency at almost all banks, bureaux de change and hotels.
American Express Travelers Cheques in US dollars are accepted as equivalent to cash by hotels, restaurants and shops, particularly in the US, but also in many other countries.
You benefit from a better exchange rate than the banknote rate for foreign currencies when you make a purchase.
Swiss Bankers and American Express Travelers Cheques are available in the following seven currencies: Swiss franc, US dollar, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, euro, pound sterling and Japanese yen.

Fees for travellers cheques
A sales commission of 1%, min. CHF 5 is charged for travellers cheques.

Foreign currencies

You can, of course, also buy foreign currency at UBS.

Get it at any UBS branch or place an order by phone with your usual branch.

The World Money Direct service also allows you to have your travellers cheques or foreign currency sent to your home – usually within 24 hours. This service is free of charge and deliveries are insured.
