UBS outlook Switzerland – Economy today
UBS outlook Switzerland – Economy today

Christmas is just around the corner. (That’s right, you read correctly.) The retail sector is in fact in the middle of preparing for the holidays, when many retailers generate up to a quarter of their annual sales. In the latest edition of UBS Outlook Switzerland, we examine the question of how consumption is developing in a recessionary environment and look at the prospects for the Christmas retail season. In Switzerland, consumption alone accounts for 57% of the gross domestic product.

In UBS Outlook Switzerland, you will also find suggestions of how pension funds are able to avoid or reduce insufficient coverage. In addition, we take a look at the development of energy prices, which are a cause of concern for businesses in Switzerland.

UBS Outlook is published on a quarterly basis and focuses on the analysis of the Swiss economy, including macroeconomic, sector-related and monetary trends and forecasts. The results of the quarterly company survey on the business activity in the industry, construction services sectors are published here. In addition, a selected topic at the interface between economic and corporate policy issues is analysed in depth. The information in it is specially designed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, giving them an important basis for making decisions and planning for the future.

Please note that starting from the fourth quarter of 2008, UBS outloook is available in German, French and Italian language only.
