IAM manages listed infrastructure securities portfolios. In May 2005, we launched the UBS Global Infrastructure Securities Fund (GISF) in Australia and is only available to Australian investors.

GISF is an actively managed portfolio of primarily equity infrastructure securities listed on recognised international exchanges. It provides Australian investors a convenient, quick and liquid way to benefit from an exposure to the infrastructure sector as well as from the investment insights generated by UBS Global Asset Management’s research and investment processes. The Fund’s objective is to produce a return in excess of the performance of the UBS Global Infrastructure Index, a sub-index of the UBS Global Infrastructure and Utilities Index launched in February 2006.

Investment philosophy and process

Investing in infrastructure involves understanding both top down as well as bottom up factors that drive these assets. We combine fundamental top down industry analysis with bottom up security valuation.
