Gene therapy | Gene therapy aims to definitively cure inherited or acquired genetic diseases by inserting "normal" genes into specific target cells within the body. Somatic gene therapy involves the treatment of the disease symptoms, while germline gene therapy enables genetic mutations to be passed on to future generations. |
