The team

Fixed Income consists of over 140 investment professionals located in 11 different offices around the world. Although the largest groups are in Chicago, London and Zurich there are also team members in Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Montreal, New York, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto. The existence of significant domestic bond teams provides acumen and knowledge that are incorporated into global strategies.

As well as portfolio managers across every fixed income capability the Fixed Income team includes macroeconomic research analysts and over 25 credit analysts. Beyond these extensive resources dedicated to fixed income the investment decision making on bond portfolios can also draw on inputs from other groups in UBS Global Asset Management. These include more than 100 equity analysts as well as members of the risk and currency teams within the Global Investment Solutions group.

Within each fixed income capability the portfolios are managed by smaller teams of investment professionals (typically 5-8 members who have direct involvement with setting strategy) whose objective is to synthesize top-down macroeconomic views and fundamental analysis with bottom-up expertise in security and sector selection. The team members are encouraged to interact in a collegiate manner and assimilate the insights from other teams but ultimately one senior portfolio manager is accountable for the performance of each strategy.
