You can help make UBS e-banking even more secure by following the steps set out below. The right approach will help you to protect your personal data.

Security guidelines for the Internet

  • Make sure your computer has up-to-date firewall and anti-virus software (preferably with "live update" function) installed at all times.

  • Only use the browser versions listed under Requirements that comply with UBS's security standards.

  • Please make sure that your operating system and your Internet browser are always equipped with the latest security updates (Microsoft / Macintosh).

  • UBS supplies a certificate upon connection to enable the browser to determine that you are actually connected to UBS's security server. You can verify the validity of this certificate yourself by comparing the fingerprint, which cannot be falsified.

  • Do not open any e-mails with unrecognizable addresses or unexpected attachments.

  • Do not respond to any prompts via e-mail or Web links to enter your security features, even if the sender purports to be UBS. Log in only via the official UBS e-banking login page. If in doubt, check the fingerprint indicated. See also note to the topic "Phishing".

  • Whenever you use UBS e-banking, make sure that you dial in to UBS as soon as you establish your Internet connection. Do not open any other Internet pages while working with UBS e-banking.

  • After inputting your payment details, check your payments online in UBS e-banking to make sure they are correct.

  • Always end your protected UBS e-banking session with the dedicated 'Logout' function in UBS e-banking via Internet. Always end your secure UBS e-banking session by using the corresponding "End" program function and, for additional security, clear your browser's cache (instructions).

  • Do no install any programs from disreputable providers.

  • Contact our UBS Customer Service Center on. 0848 848 062 if you receive any unusual warnings or error messages when accessing UBS e-banking.

  • Safeguard important data by using the Reporting and Analysis Unit’s Data Security (Melde- und Analysestelle Informationssicherung) for computer and internet protection.
