The E-documents function in UBS e-banking offers you many advantages:
You receive your e-documents quicker online than through the mail.
You have online access to your e-documents at any time for two years.
You can download the e-documents and save them on your computer.
You save on postage fees compared to traditional delivery.
The electronic document is identical to the hard copies you previously received.
You can read, save and print out e-documents as PDF files using Adobe Reader.
A filter allows you to sort your e-documents. The search criteria available are: processing status (read/unread), category (payment transactions, securities, mortgages, account reporting, statement of assets) and date range (from/to).
Regardless of processing status, e-documents remain available online at any time for two years.
A bank account in your name at UBS.
A UBS e-banking agreement.
Your consent to the contract provisions.

Please note:
Switching to e-documents can only be carried out by the account holder, not by authorized agents.
1. Log in to UBS e-banking.
2. Go to Mailbox and then E-documents.
3. Select «Electronic» as the delivery type.
4. Accept the contract provisions.
Please note:
For personal accounts, no monthly statements will be produced on paper or electronically if account statement suppression has been activated (Settings > Account & Custody Account > Suppress account statement).
For UBS personal accounts the monthly account maintenance fee is reduced from CHF 7 to CHF 2. (Regardless of a switch to electronic documents, account maintenance may already be free if a minimum of CHF10,000 total assets* was maintained during the entire previous month, or if you have a building loan or mortgage from UBS).
You save on postage fees compared to traditional delivery.
The published prices for additional debit advices on personal accounts and account statements also apply to electronic bank documents.
* Total assets include all credit balances at UBS for the same client except Pillar 2 occupational retirement savings schemes and credit card accounts.
Electronic signature: e-documents are electronically signed. When the electronic signature is successfully verified, it confirms that e-document originated from UBS and has not been changed.
Tax-relevant documents: electronically signed tax-relevant documents must be managed electronically (i.e. they must be downloaded using suitable software, saved and stored). This currently applies to all taxation issues, however, in particular to people who pay value added tax.
Storage: anyone obliged to keep business accounts or to store their banking documents for any other reason is personally responsible for ensuring that the applicable regulations regarding electronic storage of documents are complied with.
Unchanged data: When UBS verifies the signature, this confirms that the data has not been changed before being available on your PC. During and after the prescribed storage period (duration of limitation period), you are responsible for ensuring that no changes are made to the electronic documents. If the electronically signed documents are automatically processed, you must verify the signature and the documentation related to it immediately prior to transferring it to the processing system.
E-documents as tax documents: Tax authorities (still) do not generally accept documents electronically. In this case, the electronic banking documents needed for the tax return must be printed out before being submitted. This print-out will be accepted by the Swiss Federal Tax Administration in the same way as an original copy.
