THE PLAYERS Championship

THE PLAYERS Championship this year will be held from May 8-11, 2008. As with the 2007 edition, the championship falls between the Masters and the US Open on the gold calendar and continues to make a strong event stronger.

2008 will mark UBS’ fourth year as a Proud Partner of one of the most prestigious events in golf, THE PLAYERS Championship. One of the strongest fields in golf, including defending champion Phil Mickelson, will come together to compete for the richest prize on the PGA TOUR.

Just competing in THE PLAYERS enhances a player's status because the event features the strongest field in professional golf and requires that all entrants meet a set of qualifying guidelines.

Just over two decades ago, few would have seen an oasis-in-hiding in what was, at the time, an alligator and mosquito infested marsh. But, thanks to the PGA TOUR, the now legendary TPC Sawgrass venue in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, home to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course, has become a golfers’ paradise known as the home of THE PLAYERS and the famed 17th hole - one of the most famous and photographed golf holes in the world.
