UBS announced the extension of its title sponsorship of the players championship of Japan for another year
UBS provided a boost for the UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship this week, when the bank announced it was extending its title sponsorship of the players championship of Japan for another year.
The UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship, one of the most prestigious tournaments in Japanese golf, received a boost this week with confirmation that UBS has extended its title sponsorship of the tournament until 2009.
Considered the players championship of Japanese mens golf, this weeks event will take place amongst the forests of Ibaraki Prefecture, about an hour northeast of Tokyo. In 2007, it was the flamboyant king of Japanese mens golf Katayama that clinched the victory.
With its array of branding opportunities and unique entertaining events, the event has been an outstanding success for UBS and integral part of its business. It reaffirms the banks commitment to one of its most important Asia Pacific markets, Japan, while continuing the kind of long-term relationship with a valued partner that the bank prides itself on.
Said Oliver Bertschinger, Head of Sponsorship, UBS Asia Pacific: For our business, success comes through building long-term commitments with partners that share our values. As such, I am delighted that we have reached agreement to extend our relationship with the Japan Golf Tour for the UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship, an partnership that not only helps our business here but also reaffirms our commitment to the Japan market.
Being one of the leading professional golf tournaments in Japan, the UBS Japan Golf Tour Championship has been an integral part of our business here for the last three years. We feel, in partnership with Japan Golf Tour, we have helped take this event to another level and are very proud of our contribution.
The unique entertainment opportunities and the quality of the tournament have made it one of our must-attend events, which makes it an excellent tool to attract our very best clients and prospects as well as strengthen our brand. That figures to only increase as we continue to grow our partnership with the Japan Golf Tour, said Bertschinger.
