UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra

The UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra (UBS VFCO), composed of musicians and alumni from the symphony orchestra, was created in 2005 as chamber orchestra able to perform chamber repertoire at the highest level. Its size enables it to play in smaller locations and tour throughout the year, offering its musicians outstanding professional development opportunities.

The UBS VFCO enables musicians to concentrate on building sound and style, leading quickly to a hugely improved level of playing of a remarkable intensity and quality and providing invaluable training experience.

The UBS VFCO held its first public performance at a gala dinner at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2005 with soprano Renée Fleming and later toured with violinist Joshua Bell.

In 2006 the UBS VFCO embarked on a project to perform and record some of Mozart's works for violin and orchestra under the direction of Maxim Vengerov. Following a CD release on EMI Classics in 2007, the UBS VFCO toured internationally with Vengerov, performing at venues including New York's Carnegie Hall, Vienna's Musikverein and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw.

In 2008, the UBS VFCO will tour through Europe and Asia.
