Locarno International Film Festival
The Piazza Grande provides a unique backdrop for one of the most renowned film festivals in the world: the Locarno international Film Festival. It shows film from the best angle, where film buffs can indulge their passion in a unique setting. What makes it very special is that the audience has a chance to decide which film will win the «Prix du Public UBS», presented on the final evening of the festival. In 2009, the lucky winner is "Giulias Verschwinden" (Julia's Disappearance) from Chistoph Schaub.
UBS is partner and main sponsor of the Locarno international Film Festival for over 28 years and is delighted to present the «Prix du Public UBS» on behalf of the cinema-going public in recognition of this vital art form. Next year's edition will take place August 4-14, 2010.
