Our culture
Our culture Let our differences make a difference. UBSs inclusive culture encourages partnership and supports our employees professional and
personal ambitions. Open-mindedness, teamwork, honesty and respect are the cornerstones
of how we work together. It is through this collaboration of differences that we are able to
help individualsboth our employees and clientsbecome more successful.
Diversity is an element of our corporate character that is observed, every day, through the eyes
of our employees, our clients and the communities in which we work and live. Although the
scope of UBSs Diversity initiatives is global, they are driven locally.
Leadership support. Ten Regional Diversity Boards (RDBs) across UBS translate our
global commitment to Diversity into regional action: Asia, Australia, France, Germany,
Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, UK, and US. Comprised of senior business line and HR/
Diversity leaders from each region, these RDBs are charged with furthering the regional or
country-specific Diversity issues.
Grassroots support. Diversity is a fairly simple principle, but complex when it comes
to actual implementation. Its not up to just the Diversity practitioners or to Human
Resourcesits up to every one of us to put into practice. Thats why our bottom-up,
grassroots employee networks are essential in building cross-business relationships and
for creating an inclusive culture in which all UBS employees thrive.
In short, while our approach to Diversity is global, we are committed to regional coordination, local adaptation and implementation. Our collective success depends on the unique involvement of every UBS employee in every UBS office across the globe. "Over the last six years, weve all contributed to a
positive, long-term culture change. Weve established
a more open environment that better fosters flexibility
and allows people to succeed in their own way. This is
a tribute to all of us, and we can all take pride in the
recognition UBS receives."
