Environmental Report 2007

The report

The 2007 online environmental report describes our Environmental Management System in a comprehensive way. It takes a look at the environmental factor in market opportunities, risk management and in-house operations.

We also publish a condensed environmental report every year in the UBS Annual Report, which is part of the firm's annual reporting package.

Both reports feature detailed environmental performance indicators. These indicators are published annually and allow for year-on-year comparisons. They are based on industry standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) include environmental performance indicators tailored to financial institutions.

We hereby confirm that the report has been prepared with the necessary care, that its contents are correct with regard to environmental performance, that it describes the essential aspects of the Environmental Management System at UBS AG and that it reflects the actual practices and procedures at UBS AG.
We have also conducted a third party verification of the CO2 emissions in the years 2004 to 2007 against the principles of ISO 14064-I (2006). In our opinion, the reported CO2 emissions are fair, accurate, transparent and free from material errors or miss-statements and meet the materiality threshold.”
