Governance and Nominating Committee

The Governance and Nominating Committee supports the Board in its duties to establish best practices in Corporate Governance and to establish a process for appointing new Board Members.

In 2007, the Governance and Nominating Committee held six meetings, and all four members were present at each meeting. Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler, who joined the committee in April 2007, was briefed on important UBS nominations as well as corporate governance philosophy, policies and procedures in a special session.

	Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler was elected to the Board of Directors at the AGM 2006. She chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee and is a member of the Corporate Responsibility Committee. CV

	Ernesto Bertarelli Ernesto Bertarelli was elected to the Board of Directors at the AGM 2002. He is a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee and of the Strategy Committee. CV

	Sergio Marchionne Sergio Marchionne was elected to the Board of Directors at the AGM 2007 and appointed as independent Vice Chairman and Senior Independent Director in 2008. He is a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee and of the Strategy Committee. CV

	Joerg Wolle Joerg Wolle was elected to the Board of Directors at the AGM 2006. He chairs the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and is a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee. CV
